About Us

We walk on a Wednesday & Saturday (unless we are unable to source a walk leader).

The walks will normally start at 10:30am (unless otherwise stated).

Also the walks are 'circular' (i.e. they finish where they start off). Some walks are 'linear' and specific details will be listed in the Walks programme.

Although we may walk at about 3mph, by the time we add in ascents, stiles, breaks etc our average speed is probably about 2mph.

On a walk we'll stop for a 'drinks stop' late morning and a 'lunch break' around 1pm. So please bring your own food & drink.

In the winter months, we'll always aim to finish at least an hour before it goes 'dark' to give us a safety factor.

In the event of adverse weather, the Walk leader will modify the walk accordingly.

D Fairly easy, usually 4 to 5 miles.  Varied terrain but mostly good paths with a perhaps few uphill sections.

C Leisurely, usually 5 to 8 miles. For reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. Varied terrain, with uphill sections.

C+ similar to C but may be hillier, harder or slightly longer

B Moderate, usually 8 to 12 miles. For people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness.  May include some steep paths and open country and may be at a brisk pace.

B+ similar to B but may be hillier, harder or slightly longer

A Strenuous, usually 14 to 17 miles. For experienced country walkers with an above average fitness level.

Please contact the walk leader for any further information.
