JUly 2018 Walks

long manchester

GM walk

Non-members can join us on up to three walks before being required to join the group. Take a look at the walks programme and select a walk you like the sound of. Turn up at the designated start point in good time, and introduce yourself to the walk leader.

If you require some advice before deciding on a walk, e.g. to check how hard it is, or what you need to bring, etc, then contact the walk leader.

If getting to the start point is difficult, for example if the programme states there is no public transport and car sharing is recommended, then contact our Walks Co-ordinator who may be able to help.

D Fairly easy, usually 4 to 5 miles.  Varied terrain but mostly good paths with a perhaps few uphill sections.

C Leisurely, usually 5 to 8 miles. For reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. Varied terrain, with uphill sections.

C+ similar to C but may be hillier, harder or slightly longer.

B Moderate, usually 8 to 12 miles. For people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness.  May include some steep paths and open country and may be at a brisk pace.

B+ similar to B but may be hillier, harder or slightly longer.

A Strenuous, usually 14 to 17 miles. For experienced country walkers with an above average fitness level.

A+ similar to A but may be hillier, harder or slightly longer.

Please contact the walk leader for any further information.
